VI Chemical Peel in Davidson North Carolina
Total Skin and Wellness offers the VI Chemical Peel, a medical-grade non-invasive treatment for addressing rough skin texture and hyperpigmentation. VI Peels provide anti-aging benefits, ideal for clients with acne prone skin and acne scarring, fine lines and wrinkles, and sun-damaged skin, these treatments are popular and highly effective. We offer a variety of formulations customized for sensitive skin types and skin health conditions.
WHAT ARE VI CHEMICAL PEELS?
The VI Peel is specifically formulated using a synergistic blend of potent acids and ingredients including trichloroacetic acid (TCA), retinoic acid and salicylic acid, phenol, and ascorbic acid (vitamin C).
This formulation of powerful ingredients assists in the exfoliation process, stimulates the production of collagen, and targets a variety of damaged skin concerns to refresh your appearance and restore your skin's natural glow.
HOW THE VI PEEL WORKS TO IMPROVE YOUR SKIN
The VI Peel is a deep chemical peel formulated to exfoliate the surface layer of dead skin cells to reveal the fresh, bright, and radiant skin underneath, and penetrating deep below to stimulate collagen and elastin production for improved skin elasticity and structure.
At Total Skin and Wellness, we formulate the chemical solution that best addresses your specific skin issues for improved skin texture and skin tone, tackling stubborn areas and ensuring optimal and lasting results for skin conditions including:
Hyperpigmentation
The VI Peel can address uneven skin tone and reduce the appearance of dark spots, sun damage, and symptoms of melasma by correcting your skin’s pigmentation at the cellular level.
Rough Skin Texture
The deep penetrating effects of VI Peels promote healthy collagen production, a vital protein for smoothing out fine lines and wrinkles and leaving you with healthy, vibrant and youthful-looking skin texture and tone.
Acne Prone Skin
Many of our patients have chosen VI Peels for the treatment's success in cleaning out clogged pores, reducing the appearance of acne scars, and restoring smoother skin texture.
WHAT TO EXPECT DURING YOUR VI PEEL TREATMENT
Your session begins with a consultation with one of our staff aestheticians to discuss your particular skin concerns and medical history, followed by an evaluation of your skin type and current condition. This will help to determine which type of VI Peel formulation will deliver your desired results. Like most other peels, the VI Peel is performed with a facial.
Skin Cleanse
In order to ensure the peel solution is applied properly, the skin is first cleansed of all oils, dirt, and old makeup. The solution is more effective on clean, dry skin, allowing it to penetrate deeply beneath the surface layers to exfoliate and replenish your natural skin texture.
Solution Application
The aesthetician will carefully apply the solution to the skin. You may require additional layers of application depending on the formulation of your specific type of VI Peel. During this process, you may experience a warm, tingling sensation or mild stinging but these typically subside after a brief period of time.
Peel Removal
VI Peels are unlike other peels as they are not removed from the skin after application, instead the skin absorbs the peel solution after the neutralization process has taken effect.
POST-TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS
Once your treatment procedure is complete, our aesthetician will provide you with a set of care instructions that must be followed in order to ensure optimal and lasting results.
There is minimal downtime after a VI Peel, but you may notice some skin redness, mild irritation or skin peeling which may occur two to three days after your treatment. This is normal and the symptoms should start to fade after a week.
Be prepared to follow these important care instructions to enjoy all of the benefits of healthier, more radiant skin after your VI Peel:
Skincare Products
The type of skincare products you use after your VI Peel can make a big difference in helping to preserve your skin’s restored radiance. Face cleansers should contain mild ingredients and avoid all exfoliating cleansers and creams for the first week.
Avoid Sun Exposure
As your skin heals, it’s important to minimize your sun exposure, using a strong sunscreen of SPF 30 or more will help to protect against UV damage and pigmentation imbalance.
Moisturizers
Patients who have received VI Peels should use a light, non-comedogenic skin moisturizer to reduce the risks of post-treatment peeling and dry skin that can be caused by the chemical peel solution.
